Micronetics' Reports 29% Increase In Revenues And 19% Increase In Profits In Second Quarter
Net sales in the first half of FY2000 increased to $2,829,531 from $2,202,734 in the first half of FY99, an increase of $626,797 or 28.5%. Net income for the first half of FY2000 increased to $254,513, or $.07 per share, as compared with $227,986, or $.07 per share, in the same period a year ago. This is an increase of $26,527 or 11.6%. This is based on a 10% increase in the weighted average number of shares outstanding of 3,744,000 during the first half of FY2000 as compared to 3,404,000 during the first half of FY99. The Company repurchased 50,550 shares of Common Stock during the first half of FY2000 pursuant to its stock buy-back program.
Net sales for Q2 of FY2000 increased to $1,486,615 from $1,149,059 for Q2 of FY99, an increase of $337,556 or over 29%. Net income for Q2 of FY2000 increased to $154,572, or $.04 per share, as compared to $130,146, or $.04 per share, in the same quarter a year ago. This is an increase of $24,426 or 18.8%. This is based on a 10% increase in the weighted average number of shares outstanding of 3,744,000 during Q2 of FY2000 as compared to 3,404,000 during Q2 of FY99.
Richard Kalin, President, stated "The growth during the first half of FY2000 is a reflection of the impact of our recent acquisitions of Microwave & Video Systems, Inc. and Vectronics Microwave Corporation. Based on current visibility, we anticipate the rate of growth will increase for the balance of FY2000. During the first half, we made significant investments in growing our business from which we expect to see significant growth during future periods. These investments were in improvements to our marketing efforts and increasing our engineering resources, allowing us to better anticipate and respond to customer needs."
Based in Hudson, NH, Micronetics designs, manufactures and markets broadband test equipment and components used in the design, testing and manufacturing of cellular, PCS, wireless local loop, home networking and satellite equipment through its Micronetics/Equipment Group, and manufactures microwave components and subassemblies primarily used in radar, electronic counter-intelligence, wireless communications and electronic simulation applications through its Micronetics/Components Group. The Micronetics/Components Group also offers a line of voltage controlled oscillators (VCOs) which are primarily used in commercially available wireless communication products. Micronetics acquired Microwave & Video Systems, Inc. of Danbury, CT, Vectronics Microwave Corporation of Middlesex, NJ and the voltage controlled oscillator product line of Delcom, Inc. of Salem, NH, earlier this year.
