MICRONETICS WIRELESS INTRODUCES NEW FAMILY OF COMPONENTS FOR WIRELESS HANDSETS AND SUBSCRIBER UNITS
October 19, 1998 - Micronetics Wireless, Inc., (NASDAQ/NOIZ) announced today that it has introduced 30 new models of Voltage Controlled Oscillators (VCOs) designed specifically for use in the wireless handsets, subscriber units and terminals associated with PCS, Wireless Local Loop, wireless LAN, GSM, satellite, and CDMA Systems.

VCOs are components widely used in today's communication systems to direct RF frequencies to the appropriate channels during voice, data and video transmission.

The new VCOs are marked by their extremely small size - models range from .30" square to a little under .40" x .30" - and their ability to be manufactured in extremely high volumes. Handset and subscriber unit requirements are often in the hundreds of thousands of units.

"Manufacturers of handsets and small terminals or subscriber units need a VCO that's small enough to fit into an extremely tight space," says Richard Kalin, Micronetics Wireless President. "The problem with the smaller VCOs is that the performance is often not as good as the larger models. However, our new VCOs offer the same performance levels found in VCOs two to three times the size."

In addition, the VCOs designed for wireless LAN applications are low voltage VCOs, which means they require less power consumption at the customer end.

Micronetics Wireless has already received significant orders to supply the new VCOs for both a Wireless Local Loop and wireless LAN application.

Based in Hudson, NH, Micronetics Wireless designs, manufactures and markets a wide range of test equipment and components used in the design, testing and manufacturing of cellular, PCS, Wireless local Loop and satellite equipment.
