MICRONETICS WIRELESS INTRODUCES NEW CDMA AMPLIFIER TEST SET AT PCS SHOW
Orlando, Fla. -- Micronetics Wireless, Inc. (Nasdaq/NOIZ) introduced its MW-CWG Amplifer Test Set today, here at the PCS '99 Showcase. The new unit is designed to provide component manufacturers with a simple, cost-effective way to perform high volume testing of CDMA transmitting amplifiers used in wireless base stations.

"We decided to focus on transmitting amplifiers because this is where you find the most complex, "high crest factor" CDMA signals," says Richard Kalin, Micronetics Wireless President. "There are strict guidelines, outlined in the IS-95/97 standards, that require these signals operate within a specific range of the spectrum. Our new product helps OEMs assure these amplifiers will transmit within that range once they're operating in the base station."

The MW-CWG set essentially simulates a CDMA base station signal travelling through the transmitting amplifier. In so doing, it enables manufacturers to gauge the impact different signal levels will have on the amplifier itself.

"The end result is to help manufacturers build a better transmitting amplifier, one that's capable of performing exactly as expected in the real world," Kalin says.

In the past year, Micronetics Wireless has introduced several new pieces of test equipment, including a new multi-channel noise generator and an integrated noise generator/multi-path fading simulator test instrument for CDMA applications.

Based in Hudson, NH, Micronetics Wireless manufactures, designs and markets a range of test equipment and components used to design, test and manufacture equipment for cellular, PCS, Wireless Local Loop and satellite applications.
