MICRONETICS ANNOUNCES 35% INCREASE IN SALES AND DOUBLING OF NET INCOME FOR '98
Net income for the nine months ended December 31, 1997 was $318,376, or $.09 per share, as compared with net income before extraordinary item of $229,902, or $.07 per share, in the same period a year ago. Last year the Company also had an extraordinary item benefit of $98,566, or $.03 per share. Net sales were $3,455,412 versus $2,700,256 in the first nine months of Fiscal 1997, an increase of $755,156 or 28%.
Net income for 3Q98 was $111,477, or $.03 per share, more than doubling net income of $49,800, or $.02 per share, in 3Q97. Net sales were $1,243,281 in 3Q98 versus $916,207 in 3Q97, an increase of $327,074 or over 35%.
Richard S. Kalin, President, stated "We have been increasing our investments in research and development and in marketing. These increases should support continued increases in sales and earnings over the next few quarters. Our shipments to Asia are up for the fourth quarter."
Based in Hudson, NH, Micronetics Wireless is a manufacturer of specialized RF components and test equipment used as building block components and test equipment by manufacturers of cellular PCS, wireless local loop, satellite and other manufacturers of communications equipment.
